8th session - 2005
- The 8th Summer School of Myology took place from 15 to 24 June 2005 at the Institut of Myology at Paris.
Despite coming only a month after Myology 2005 in Nantes, the 8th summer
school of myology attracted 30 students – 5 more than last year – from 18
nationalities.
Among summer school newcomer countries were Ireland, Peru and New Caledonia.
There was a good South American contingent (2 Peruvians, 1 Chilean, 2 Argentines
and 2 Brazilians). Also, there were four participants from India, two from Iran,
and Central European countries were well-represented.
This year has seen certain pedagogical changes – a shortening of the afternoon workshops, with more priority given to clinical case studies (3 for biopsy slides and 2 molecular genetics workshops) as well as the contribution from a surgeon, Dr R. Zeller who gave a lecture on surgical aspects of neuromuscular diseases.
